Entertainment for young men is the entertainment-first tier with one added floor. The title's advocacy tier must be entertainment, which design/scoring.md section 6 defines as an advocacy score from 0 through 20, and score_young_men must be at least 60. Sixty is not a new weight. It is the same floor scoring.md section 7 already uses when it classifies a title as universal: every quadrant, including the lowest, is at least 60 and the range across the four scores is under 20. Here the floor is applied to one quadrant only. A title can clear 60 for young men and still be targeted or niche on breadth, because the other three quadrants are free to sit much lower. That is the point of a quadrant intent. It answers "made for this audience," not "made for everyone."
Young men is one of the four stored quadrant scores: young men, young women, older men, and older women. Each is a 0–100 composite of the gender axis and the age axis. The gender axis runs from strongly male-targeted at 0 to strongly female-targeted at 100. The age axis runs from older-skewing at 0 to younger-skewing at 100, with 50 described in the quadrant model as cross-generational. The quadrant score is what browse already sorts when a visitor picks the Young Men sphere. This intent does not replace that sphere. It intersects the sphere's column with the entertainment tier, so a high young-men score that was earned by a message-leaning or advocacy-driven title stays out.
What the filter refuses matters as much as what it keeps. A title at young-men 80 and advocacy tier mixed (21–40) is outside. A title at young-men 59 and tier entertainment is outside, even by a single point, because the floor is a cutoff for discovery and not a smoothed rank. A documentary with a null advocacy tier is outside, matching the rule that the advocacy metric does not apply to non-fiction. An adaptation is eligible whether or not it is faithful. Faithfulness is a separate checklist and a separate intent. Ordering inside the set is score_young_men descending, then title id ascending, so the same URL returns the same sequence.
The public gate underneath every intent is unchanged: the title is not deleted, and its status is complete or verified. Partial, pending, and deferred rows stay out of discovery the way they stay out of ordinary browse. An optional min_confidence parameter can raise the titles.data_confidence floor for one request. Leaving it off does not invent a second default. An optional provider parameter can require a US streaming offer whose provider_name is on the allowlist, including Netflix. Those parameters are shared by /browse and /explore. The landing URL is /browse?intent=entertainment-young-men.
Nothing on this page changes a score. The methodology page is where the axis weights, the advocacy bands, and the breadth rules are published. A mismatch between a credit list and a quadrant score belongs on the corrections page, with the record attached, not in a tweak to this filter.
The weights and the bands this page cites are published on the methodology page. The live set is browse this intent. The same parameter works on explore.
