Entertainment-first

Advocacy tier is entertainment (score 0–20).

WhatSphere's entertainment-first intent is the set of scored titles whose advocacy tier is entertainment. The tier is not a review and it is not a vibe. design/scoring.md section 6 defines it as an advocacy score from 0 through 20. The same section sets mixed at 21–40, message-leaning at 41–65, and advocacy-driven at 66 and above. A title lands in this intent only when the stored advocacy_tier column is the entertainment value that those bands produce. The filter does not recompute the score and it does not move a title across a band.

The advocacy score itself is a weighted composite of observable production inputs: character changes relative to a source, named advocacy-organization involvement, attributed creator statements that carry a URL, adaptation infidelity where a source exists, and the content-messaging axes (narrative universality, identity centrality, self-congratulatory messaging, and audience inclusivity) when those axes were assessed. Null content axes contribute nothing. They are not treated as a neutral 50. Originals skip the infidelity term. Documentaries are not given an advocacy score, because the metric is defined for fiction, so a documentary with a null tier cannot enter this set. That exclusion is the scoring rule, not an extra penalty invented for the landing page.

Entertainment-first is the intent a visitor reaches when they want the catalog's low-messaging band without also demanding a gender or an age. It is deliberately wider than entertainment-young-men and entertainment-young-women, which add a quadrant floor of 60 on top of this same tier. A title can be entertainment-tier and still be aimed at one narrow quadrant. Breadth is a different classification. Universal, mass-market, mainstream, targeted, and niche are computed from the spread of the four quadrant scores, and this intent does not constrain that spread. If you want titles that score well for several audiences at once, use the cross-generational intent. If you want the entertainment tier and a specific quadrant, use that quadrant's intent. Stacking is allowed: the same URL contract accepts a provider and a confidence floor beside the intent, and those predicates are AND-ed, not silently dropped.

Reading a row on this page is the same as reading it on a title page. The four quadrant scores say who the production is pointed at. The advocacy tier says how heavily messaging weighs in the scored inputs. Faithfulness is present only for adaptations and is not a membership test here. A faithful adaptation with an entertainment tier is in this set. An unfaithful adaptation is in this set too, if its tier is still entertainment. Faithfulness has its own intent.

The shareable URL is /browse?intent=entertainment-first and the same intent parameter on /explore. Pasting that URL in a new tab asks the API for this predicate again. The page you are reading does not rank by a learned taste model, does not require an account, and does not rewrite the formula in scoring.md. The methodology page publishes the weights, the confidence floor used when a caller asks for one, and the known limits of the inputs. Challenge a row on the corrections page when the production record disagrees with the tier.

The weights and the bands this page cites are published on the methodology page. The live set is browse this intent. The same parameter works on explore.
